Activity 8: Building a Persona

We had to build a persona by looking at a set of things/ objects owned by someone who is unknown to us. We had to make a character sketch by observing the belongings of someone. This involved a lot of group discussions and group decisions. Warm up activity

We observed the set of objects and made informed guesses as to whom these objects could belong to. By listing down the characteristics of the personal describe his/her personality through the given object . We tried to understand the demographics - gender, race, age group, physical characteristics, occupation, income group, tastes, preferences etc from which they belonged to. Main activity

Poster - Character sketch

We were given certain objects to observe and we made a sketch of the person who we think these objects would belong too. We as a group made a miro board explaining all of this.

Reflections

- I learnt how to observe and make a character sketch of someone by just looking at a few of their belongings.

- I realised that everyone is unique. What you own talks a lot about who you are and what your personality is.

- It is fairly easy to figure someone out but it is important to have a group discussion before making any decision and coming to any conclusions and making any assumption.

- We came really close to the actual persona of the person with just a few his belongings.

Learning Mantra Always listen to your gut feelings, you never know that that's the way to go about certain decisions.
